From the 100 I collection

Jeffrey Chong does all the heavy lifting on this website. Without him all these collections would remain unseen.

So Jeff came to me and told me with great enthusiasm, “You know collection #100 is coming up,” and I said, “So?”

“We ought to do something special for 100.”

And I said “OK, but what?”

“I don’t know, something special.”

He pointed out that there were many of his and my favorite images not on the website, mostly, but not only, because they don’t easily fit into any category on which we base the website collections.

I thought about it and we came to the conclusion that for #100 I should lose my obsessive yearning to put things in groups and subjects and just pick what I liked intuitively.

So this collection has no rhyme or reason. These are favorites, pictures which I chose simply because I love them and am delighted with them. In some, I’m challenged by them, insofar as I don’t understand the reason I took them, or why I like them so much.

Then came the choice of a name for the collection. I came up with Potpourri Miscellaneous, Favorites, Mixed Blessings–and on and on.

Jeffrey said why don’t we just call it “100”.

Done!
