Jakarta
I pretty much judge a place by how well people treat me as a photographer. If they let me shoot it’s a wonderful place. When I was in Jakarta in the 1980’s they let me shoot. It meant they hadn’t had to deal with too many tourists or photographers.
Jakarta is one of those places that rewards my joy of wandering aimlessly.
Except for a dome, a pool, a boat, and one landscape, everything I shot was of people. They’re irresistible.
I want to go back.
