Official at the Chapel, Rome

From the Rome Wedding collection

I got a call from some wonderful friends of mine who live in Rome, Italy. They told me their daughter was getting married and I was invited to the wedding. They very diplomatically did not mention that since I was her godfather I should damn well make sure to come, and take pictures, too.

I have always told people if you want me to shoot at your wedding, hire some real wedding photographers so if I screw up you’ll still have the pictures. They had already done that so I was free to shoot whatever caught my eye.

I had a great time. I was free to shoot as a personal “trip,” and since we were friends, I felt less intrusive and more like family than photographer.

The wedding was held in an old building in a wonderful room with great light. For the reception we move on to a countryside location and I’ve included some pictures at the end that had nothing to do with anything except that these were shot on the same trip to Rome.
